Join us for this beautiful exhibit of 61 artworks celebrating the book. Catherine Devriese, SebArts curator, says, “We see the book as a point of departure and encouraged innovative approaches for the entries.” The exhibit includes handmade artist books; traditional bookmaking methods; unconventional structures, sculptural, and monumental; book-like objects in which the primary interest, or emphasis, is visual rather than textual; altered books; homage to the book. BOUND TOGETHER ~ Tablet to Tablet ~  in Gallery 2  A timeline of book arts, from cave paintings and cuneiform incised clay tablets through digital tablets. The exhibition includes historic prints from the collection of artist Rik Olson — beginning with a hand-lettered manuscript page from the 1300s, wood engravings and  letterpress printing from the 1400s         Gutenberg era through the 1900s, and contemporary work of illustrators and printmakers, along with books, displays of process and materials.
