Bibliophoria shines for its interdisciplinary aspects. Books truly are where the arts come together. Artists, writers, editors, designers, illustrators, printmakers, photographers, printers, bookbinders, and artisans of every medium collaborate on books. Books thrive because of the creative minds of agents, publishers, distributors, and booksellers. And these days, coders, composers, sound designers, animators and filmmakers contribute to ebooks and apps.

Bibliophoria 2014 opens June 12 with 3 book-related exhibitions at Sebastopol Center for the Arts. The Bibliophoria III Juried Exhibit, Bound Together: Tablet to Tablet, and Bind, Stitch, Fold: Sonoma County Book Arts Guild Show. Join us for the reception 6 to 7:30 pm at 282 S. And yes, it’s Biblio + (eu)phoria without the “eu”—a term coined by book artist and painter Lin Max for the first Bibliophoria exhibit in 2009.

The 2014 events include a Street Printing Festival, led by Rik Olson and Cheryl Itamura, and featuring printmaking with a 3-ton pavement roller in the SebArts parking lot, along with booths by artists, authors, booksellers and others from the book and arts community.
