KRCB Reader’s Theater ~ Short Writing Contest for Teens. Winning writing is read on the radio by professional actors.  Submit a short story, essay or other work of prose beginning with “Books are.” Deadline extended to May 24. Details.

Art at the Source ~ Two weekends of visiting artists in their studios. Sponsored by the Sebastopol Center for the Arts. A great fit with Bibliophoria, Art at the Source is a close-up look at the hands-on creative processes of Sonoma County artists. Studios open June 4 & 5, 11 & 12. go

Baskets of Poetry ~ Young Poets of Sebastopol & Sonoma County from California Poets in the Schools at Sprint Copy Center through July. details. go

Bookbinding ExhibitSonoma County Book Arts Guild hand-made book arts. In the display case of the Sebastopol Branch of the Sonoma County Library. June 1 to June 19. June 27 to July 30. go

Patrick Reagh Master Printer ~ Fine book exhibit of the work by a world-class letterpress printer, Patrick Reagh. Sebastopol Branch Library display case June 20 to 25 and one-day exhibit in the forum room June 25. Conversation with Pat 11 am to noon. go

Sculpture Jam 2011~ A weekend of public art and artist participation. Sculpture Jam at the Sebastopol Plaza, Petaluma Avenue and McKinley Avenue. Father’s Day weekend, June 18 & 19, 10 AM to 3 PM. go

MUSIC

Saturday Morning Concerts ~ Music and songplay for children, parents and grandparents. Featuring Dennis Hysom and songs from “Wooleycat’s Musical Theater” book, CD and mobile apps. At Sebastopol Center for the Arts. June 18 & July 16. 10 am. $5 per person/$4 SCA members. go

Summer Music Series ~ Music, dancing, storytelling and chalkdrawing at the downtown Plaza. Minstrels spread our collective stories long before printed books. Celebrate with musical language. Bring a picnic! Hosted by Sebastopol Center for the Arts. Free. Thursdays in July, 6 to 7:30 pm. go
